1. What got you into the music?
Honestly, the road got me into music, having traveled over 3,000,000 miles back-and-forth from state to state.
I grew up listening to the radio… It gave me an escape and dreams and ambitions. My parents didn’t believe in teaching their children how to read or write, so I found my Comfort in music.
2. What’s your favorite part about playing music?
The joy it gives. I don’t care if I’m playing my guitar or singing or just listening… I find my happiness.
3. Who are your favorite bands and influences?
When I was young, I always sang Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, and Willie Nelson songs around the campfire. So I’m heavily influenced by folk, classic rock, and classic country music.
4. If you could meet any musician or songwriter, who would it be and why?
Ray LaMontagne would be pretty cool to meet. I would hope that we would meet in a Recording studio and just sing. No one has to press play and record.
5. How has this past year changed the way you approach music?
2020 was a year of just letting go for me… So my music in away feels more comfortable and rounded. I played with new sounds and picked up different techniques on the guitar and really just let my vocals stand out.
6. Do you have any upcoming projects or events we can watch out for? Where can we get more info?
For the longest time I’ve kept my works pretty much to myself… but that has changed.
I’m always working on projects and finding artists to collaborate with in some way… be it writing or adding a voice. I’m doing a live album recording in Joshua tree in 2 weeks, and BuzzmusicLA just put out a article on myself and my good friend Marita Gomsrud for a cover of the Lumineers “Slow it Down”.
I also have a new Single coming out in 2 weeks called “Saints and Devil’s”
7. Words you live by…
Get enough good energy in one room and you can light the world.
